Zingerman's Casbah Coffee Cake

The base for this coffee cake starts with a heady dose of tahini, a Middle Eastern sesame seed paste that, when baked in the cake, tastes rich and nutty, like peanut butter. Then the cake gets a ribbon of chocolate swirled all through it.

Think of it as a slightly exotic version of a peanut butter cup in coffee cake form, with all the flavor but none of the peanuts. Kids love it 'cause it’s got chocolate inside. Adults love it 'cause it’s straight up delicious. Gift givers love it 'cause there’s nothing like it anywhere. 

The cake is our classic Nosher size (serves 5-7). It comes gift boxed either in our wooden cheese crate or our fun, cartoon cardboard gift box.

This handmade coffee cake's ingredients are organic wheat flour (organic wheat, malted barley), sugar, sour cream, butter, fresh eggs, chocolate, organic Turkish tahini, enriched wheat flour, Madagascar vanilla extract, sea salt, and baking soda.
